CREATING A CHRISTMAS WREATH | WORKSHOP WITH VIVIENNE BROPHY

Join the Lismore Castle Gardens team and special guest, Vivienne Brophy for our popular annual festive wreath-making workshop.
Utilising seasonal winter foliage from the castle gardens, this workshop will give guidance on appropriate structure, selection, quantity and conditioning of foliage, wire work techniques, finishing and decoration, as well as maintenance and watering.
Vivienne Brophy, architect and florist, undertook the career floristry course in McQueens Flower School London. Inspired by a career researching and lecturing on architectural sustainability in UCD, Vivienne is dedicated to applying the sustainable principle of ‘less is more’ to floristry.
Two sessions available: 10.30AM-1PM and 2.30PM-5PM
Materials will be provided. Seasonal treats and refreshments included. Suitable for adults.

HALLOWEEN FILM NIGHT
Midsommar (2019)

We are thrilled to present a special screening of the 2019 folk horror film Midsommar written and directed by Ari Aster and starring Florence Pugh.
The film follows a dysfunctional couple who travel to Sweden with a group of friends for a midsummer festival, only to find themselves in the clutches of a sinister cult practicing Scandinavian paganism.
The soundtrack is composed by British electronic musician Bobby Krlic (The Haxan Cloak). Writing in the Guardian, Steve Rose describes Midsommar as 'a powerful study of grief, betrayal, breakups and more'.
Enjoy popcorn and a beer to make a night of it in the atmospheric Pugin Hall.

Wreath Making Workshops

Join the Lismore Castle Gardens team and special guest for a hands-on festive wreath-making workshop. Construct and decorate your own Christmas Wreath using foliage from the Castle Gardens. Materials will be provided. Mulled wine and seasonal treats included.
